Blog Statistics Blogger

Are Website Statistics Useful?

Most website owners and bloggers feel curious about who visits their websites, what keywords they used in search engines to reach their websites, what are the most popular pages, etc. For business websites it’s not just curiosity but a necessity to have statistical data, because taking decisions and monitoring results require specific statistics.

When your website receives new visits, do you know what are they doing? Are your potential customers abandoning your site just seconds after their arrival? If you are confused because you don’t know what your visitors are doing, or why, then how could you create a good strategy to offer your visitors a better experience on your website?

The key is not getting lost in a mountain of numbers, but really focusing on the few statistics that are important to your business. The concept is simple: keeping users engaged will help to retain visitors, increase conversion rates, and consistently help deliver more revenue.

There are many companies that offer web site and blog statistics services on the Internet. Some of them are free, some of them are paid. Some of them are very simple and provide you with minimal information, some of them provide in depth information about your website or blog visitors.

What is important is to identify your real needs, and find a service that satisfy all of them, or at least the most important ones. Don’t pay for services you don’t need or services you can find elsewhere for free.

Some features you may need are:

· Unique visitors and pageloads: More pageloads/visitor probably means your visits are staying longer visiting numerous pages within your website, but also may mean they are not able to find what they are looking for, and they may end dissatisfied.

· Referring URL’s: Know what other web sites are driving traffic to your website or blog.

· Search engine and keywords used.

· Popular pages: what are the most visited pages on your web site, and which ones nobody sees.

· Entry and exit pages.

· Visitor length.

· Most active countries.

· Visitor browser, screen resolution, operating system, etc.

Having all these web site statistics will let you know who is visiting your site or blog, what web pages are the most popular and also the ones that are very rarely used. You will learn which search engines are sending you traffic, and what keywords they are using to find your web site. They can even tell you what browser and screen resolution your visitors are using.

Your web site traffic statistics are an extremely valuable information for your business. You will be able to make decisions on improving your site through the information they give you. Observing your visitor’s behavior will help you address the issues they are having with your website.

For example, if they don’t know where to go, simplify their path through your web site. And, if they are too quick to abandon, give them a reason to stay online by offering a free product/download or competitive pricing on your latest product(s).

Japan. the Highest Blogging Community

Did you know that currently there are about 16.9 million internet blogs in Japan as of January 2008?

According to a latest survey by Japan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, there are about 16.9 million internet blogs in Japan as of January 2008. Now thats a lot of blogs for a single country. According to these numbers that would mean that about 20 percent of the Japanese internet community are involved in blogging (20 percent of about 88 million internet users).

The number of blogs worldwide totals at about 70 million (give or take a million). A whopping 37 percent of these blogs are taken up by these Japanese bloggers. Coming a close second are English blogs which account for 36 percent of the 70 million. Coming in as third most popular language used in blogs would be Chinese which only totals at about 8 percent. With all these numbers it is easy to see that Japanese blogs are the most abundant worldwide. I am so surprised to hear that this literally makes the Japanese blogging community the highest blogging community in the world, numbers just don’t lie.

Here is the survey done by the the Japanese Ministry:

It was found that blogs used for self-expression, in which people listed daily events like a diary to relieve stress, were the most common type in Japan, accounting for 30.9 percent of all blogs. About 40 percent of the people who started these blogs were aged in their teens and 20s.

Another 25.7 percent of blogs were community types in which people sought acquaintances under themes in which they held an interest. Archive-type blogs in which users organized and released information relating to their interests stood in third place, at 25.0 percent. These blogs were used not by young people but also by users in a wide range of age groups, including those in their 30s and 40s.

It was found that slightly under 20 percent of all blogs in Japan (about 3 million blogs) were updated at least once a month. About 400,000 to 500,000 new blogs appeared each month. Viewers posted an average of roughly 1.5 comments per article, showing that information was being actively exchanged.

About 12 percent of the 3 million blogs that were updated at least once a month were “spam blogs.” Of these, 38.3 percent encouraged people to buy goods, 17.1 percent were designed to collect advertising revenue, and 7.0 percent directed people to adult or matchmaking sites.

There must be a lot of otaku sites out there by the Japanese, ah….competition always makes me feel sad….

Yahoo.360 Blog Weblog

How Cool Bloggers Personalize Their Blogs

The new trend of online entertainment in 2006, I can say it is Weblog. So sorry that I have not found the statistic to backup my conclusion but what are happening around me these days can prove the truth. One of my friends spend at least 15 minutes per day to find beautiful and impressive pictures and themes to decorate her personal blog and another feels totally disappointed when his new entry has no comment and even worse no visitor . You may say those are some of my friends only and it is just a particular phenomenon. That’s fine! But please visit some sites such as Myspace, Yahoo360o, Blogspot, etc. and compare the number of members today with that last week or even yesterday, you can see the difference. Prove it yourself!

Oops, maybe there are some people who feel this is a quite new so I will talk a little bit about the definition, alright? Weblog, or usually shortened to blog, is considered as a place providing commentary or news on a particular subject, such as entertainment, politics, local news and some function as more personal online diary. Let put it in a simple way, just imagine we have a notebook used as a diary and each page of the book is for each person and remember we now have an online book so the number of pages is unlimited. Some famous brand names of Weblog can be listed are: Livejournal, Blogspot, Yahoo 360, MySpace, Mindsay, etc. A typical blog usually combines text, images, and links to other blogs, web pages, and other media related to its topic. Most blogs are primarily textual but with high creativeness, many web bloggers can make their blogs much impressive with photograph (photoblog), video (vlog) and audio (podcasting).

What are the advantages of a blog if we do not want to say it is a waste of time and even money (for Internet and electricity) Hmm, please careful! Here is what a blogger said: A certificate which says you are a citizen of the 21st century. You may say it is an exaggeration but it is now a trend, you can tell! If we have more patience, let’s have a deeper look to see more from blogs and bloggers.

Make a Distinguished Blog, Just For Fun, And More

Generally, a blog is an e diary. Why don’t people just buy a notebook and a pen and why do they publicize their personal life and open for even strangers? I can say that is the need of a friend network, free conversation and somehow a way to show Me, myself and I. Look at my friends, she has been trying to make her blog look beautiful and he has been putting effort into his writings, all for getting as many visitors as possible.

I can see the personal blogs with detailed profile, creative decoration, daily update and specific subjects such as music, movie, poem, etc. have more views. Text cannot be replaced in personal blog but now people, especially teenagers, have more ways to make their blogs more attractive. Podcasting video clip studio clips is an example. Many young people can share music and short movie by this way. Some record their own real life with a camera and then show up. Another way is posting voice instead of typing. With a voice recorder, one person can speak to a microphone, upload audio file and then link to his/her personal blog. With the creativeness and the need to be not monotonous everyday, a very impressive blogger uploads his audio-stories with different voices to describe his different mood and emotion. Getting to know him through his personal blog with loads of audio files, I found that he has been using a Voice Changer Software which changes his real voice to many different voices and sounds (male, female and even animals). The software also changes the singer’s voice in some music files he uploaded. Sound so interesting!

Monetize a Personal Blog

I had a very interesting talk with Helen Le, Sales and Marketing manager of a software company named Audio4fun.com last week. She shared that an incredible huge number of downloads of a funny sound available on her website just happened in one day and came from a personal blog on Myspace (she added this had never happened before and even the number of download from Google could not compare). My curiosity pushed me to view that blog and a lot of new interesting things popped up in my mind. More than 1 million of visitors are in her site is a wonderful number. Should people monetize their blog?

Maybe you criticize how people can always place commerce everywhere, even in a personal room. But that is a matter of life! With the above case, if Audio4fun.com can utilize that personal blog to build traffic and get more downloads to its site, it is a simple and not costly way.

I want to end up my writing here with an interesting idea about making money with personal blog from Steve Pavlina: If you do decide to generate income from your blog, then don’t be shy about it. If you’re going to put up ads, then really put up ads. Don’t just stick a puny little ad square in a remote corner somewhere. If you’re going to request donations, then really request donations. Don’t put up a barely visible Donate link and pray for the best. If you’re going to sell products, then really sell them. Create or acquire the best quality products you can, and give your visitors compelling reasons to buy. If yours going to do this, then fully commit to it. Don’t take a half-assed approach. Either be full assed or no-assed.

Blogging 101

If writing is an art, then, blogging is one way of using words to come up with an art. This is because people who are into blogging are the ones who are artistic on their own sense, carefully choosing words that would best describe their feelings, sentiments, wishes, desires, and everything. Basically, blogs were first introduced as weblogs that refer to a “server’s log file.” It was created when web logging hit the virtual market. Since its inception in the mid-1990s, web logging gradually saturated the virtual community making the Internet a viable source of greater information. However, with web logging, you still need a web site and domain names, but with blogging, you do not need anything just an account with blog providers. In most cases, these kinds of blogs are free of charge. With the onset of blogging in the industry, personal journaling had been a common ground for people who wish to be known all over the world. However, not literally famous as this is not a case on being popular or well-known personality. Generally, blogs are created for personal use. Like a journal, people can write their daily adventures, sentiments, and whatever ideas they want to express online. Nevertheless, with the advent of the online businesses, blogs had gradually taken the limelight in providing businesses a chance to boost their productivity online. This is where the business blogs have taken the limelight. Business blogs are, basically, created to advertise the services or products of a certain web site or online business in order to increase online sales. Moreover, business blogs are also one way of promoting the company so that the other readers will know that a certain company exists online. With blogs, entrepreneurs are able to establish a name in the virtual market through articles that can be very useful in the reader’s life. From there, you can make money out of blogs by simply syndicating it to your business’ web site. This can be done through the RSS technology. So, if you are thinking to create a blog, whether for business or for pleasure, you need to know some tips that could help you get through and make your blog one of the interesting blogs online. Here’s how: 1. Consider your audience Even if your blog is generally personal, still, it would be better to consider the minds of your readers. You have to think of something that would interest them. After all, most of the reasons of people who write blogs are not at all confined to their own personal motives. Most of them would love to be “heard” (or read) and would love to be known, in some way or another, even for just a minute. Hence, it is very important to come with a write up that everybody can understand, not necessarily that these people can relate to it but they can understand it. 2. Pictures speaks a thousand words To make your blogging worth the browsing effort of your readers, it would be extremely nice if you will put some pictures in it. It does not necessarily mean you have to place a picture of yourself. Any photographs will do as long as it does not pose danger or insult to anyone who will be reading your blog. 3. Make constructive and beneficial blogs Even if you are free to write anything you wan to say to the world, still, it would be better to create some write-ups that would be beneficial to your readers. After all, its information technology that you have there so better be inclined to provide information rather than sheer quirky entertainment. 4. Avoid making multifaceted and complicated blogs In order to have an interesting blogs, try not to use some highly technical and highfalutin words. After all, it is not a science discourse or a debate that you are making, so better stick to simple facts and short blogs. Bear in mind that most people who use the Internet usually do more scanning than scrutinizing each site word for word. Therefore, it would be better to come with blogs that will not bore your readers just because you have these lengthy articles. 5. Make it interactive As much as possible and if your capacity will allow it, make your blog interactive. Yu can do this by placing some video or audio clips in your blog. You can even place an area for comments or for some feedbacks. In this way, you can get some impressions or reactions of other people. Who knows, you might even gain some friends just by making them feel at home in your blog site. Indeed, blogs are not created just for the mere fun of it. It also has its own purpose in the world of the Internet. Therefore, for people who wish to harness their craft, as far as writing is concerned, blogs are the best way to do it. As they say, blogging is the contemporary term of creative and commercial writing.

Blog Monitoring – A New Role For PR

Identifying and influencing a target audience’s perception of clients and their brands has always been a top priority for high-tech public relations professionals.

In the past, a PR agency simply had to track coverage in a handful of major magazines and trade journals to gauge their client’s reputation among its prospects and customers, as well as key industry advisors such as analysts. But today, as the importance of social media continues to rapidly rise, understanding what the public thinks, wants, and needs requires a more complex and sophisticated monitoring strategy.

* Blogs Have Become Widely Popular

Blogs, also known as Weblogs, represent a new, revolutionary form of journalism. These online communication vehicles provide an information-hungry consumer audience with a steady stream of timely and relevant news and resources about the topics they are most interested in.

As the popularity and number of print publications declines (there were over 31,000 magazines available in 1999, but less than 23,000 published in 2005, based on a study by the American Society of Magazine Editors), the number of Weblogs seems to be growing at an unstoppable pace.

There are currently more than 35 million blogs in existence, according to Technorati, and that number is expected to at least double within the next 6 months. Technorati also claims that the blogosphere, the universe of available blogs on the Internet, is more than 60 times bigger than it was just three years ago, with approximately 75,000 new Weblogs being launched every day.

* Tracking Blogs Provides Valuable Insights

When targeted and monitored effectively, these blogs — as well as message boards, wikis, and product review sites — can offer a wealth of accurate and timely intelligence about consumer opinions, behaviors, and preferences.

By tracking these social media channels, PR agencies can gain the valuable insight they need to create relevant and high impact messages, and develop more successful high-tech public relations, branding, and marketing plans. Additionally, because opinions, comments, and ideas that are both positive and negative can spread like wildfire in the expansive blogosphere, this information helps firms implement PR strategies that enable them to effectively leverage online media to control their clients’ reputations and images.

* What to Consider When Monitoring the Blogosphere

The objective of blog monitoring is two-fold. The first major goal is to find the Weblogs that cover topics and issues related to a client’s products and services, and determine what the link density of each one is. Those blogs with the highest link density are usually the ones with the widest-reaching Web networks, the greatest “mindshare” among the Internet audience, and the most influence over consumer opinion.

Once the most important blogs have been identified, the PR agency can then begin building relationships with the bloggers, to help ensure that their clients’ messages, images, and value propositions are accurately and consistently relayed in any blog entries.

The second purpose of blog monitoring is to track references specific to the client. For example, blog monitoring can enable PR professionals to find and evaluate mentions of the company, product and brand names, or the names of top executives. This will help them continuously assess the company’s reputation, and the market’s perception of their products and services, so they instantly uncover any problems, and take appropriate action when needed.

* Tools to Help You Monitor Coverage

Many PR agencies outsource blog monitoring activities, much in the same way they currently use third-party service providers to track clippings and print coverage.

For those firms that choose to handle their own blog monitoring, there are plenty of tools available.

Any RSS reader can be used to subscribe to up-to-the-minute news and Web content based on common industry key words and phrases (these can be the same key words and phrases used in press monitoring).

There are also a variety of quantitative blog monitoring solutions, such as Feedster, PubSub, and Technorati that provide key statistics such as the number of blogs and the frequency of posts or updates. Or, qualitative tools like Blogdex, BlogPulse, Daypop, and Blabble which can help PR agencies track the context of blog entries and other online discussions.

Blogging Equalizer

October 31st, 2008 admin No comments

Blog Multiplication Equals Higher Earnings

I just want to ask you one quick question. Are your blogs profitable? I told you it would be quick. It’s real simple to answer. Either your blogs are earning for you, or their not. I will tell you something here and I will be blunt. If your blogs are earning you some type of income then you need to listen up. If your blogs are not earning you some sort of income then you DEFINETLY need to listen up. Pay attention close to what I say and maybe the next time someone asks you that question instead of saying yes or no you can say “HECK YES THEY ARE”!

Now I again will be blunt. Some people consider this totally unethical and blackhat. I leave that for you to decide. A vast majority of the people that will tell you this is “blackhat”, are not earning “peanuts” from their blogging efforts. The people who have the “Victory or Death” approach are reaping profits only some can imagine to make on the Internet.

So what exactly am I talking about you ask? I’m talking about multiplying your blogging efforts and exploding your Adsense and Affiliate income. Now before I tell you on how to do that, I want to ask you some more questions. First, are your Adsense earnings substantial? Is your Affiliate income coming in at a level that is suitable for you to be satisfied with? Do you keep finding it harder and harder each day to rank for the keywords you are shooting for? Are you having just a tough enough time to get your site or blog indexed? Well, if you answered NO or you replied with a slow YES then keep reading because I’m going to tell you how I get all of my sites and blogs indexed within 3 days. Yes, I get them indexed in 3 days, although I have waited a week before, it’s still not long enough for me to get agitated about.

Now, there are a lot of people that will tell you that Blogging and Pinging is dead. I am here to tell you that either they are not doing it right, or they did not have it work for them so they have jumped to the assumption that it does not work. IT DOES WORK! I know it does and so do thousands of other people on the NET. The trick is to not just create 1 blog but to create hundreds of blogs. Yes I said “hundreds” of blogs. Now you might be thinking that creating that many blogs is just insane and too time consuming. Well, you are exactly right about the “time” part. But you are dead wrong about creating that many blogs to be “insane”.

For every site or blog I create, I will go and create 50 blogs with links back to my “main” site. I then post to these blogs, ping them and let the search engines coming running through the links back to my “main” sites. I do this all with FREE Blogger Blogs. Yes Blogger is still alive and still serves a purpose. In case you did not know, Blogger is owned by Google and is a sub domain with a Pagerank 10. Imagine links to your main “moneymakers” on a sub domain Pagerank 10 blog being pinged incrementally with whatever times you set. Now just imagine you had 50, 100, or even thousands of blogs with your links to your sites being pinged to tell those feisty Search Engines to “Come have a look”.

If you think about it for a minute, it’s by far the fastest way to get a site or blog indexed. Now, that we have covered your site being indexed let’s go over backlinks. Backlinks play a HUGE factor in determining your site’s ranking in the Search Engines. Well, just like we made blogs to get our sites indexed, we can just make more blogs with proper anchor text links back to our main sites. It’s that simple people. There is no fluff here.

Using Blogger to get your sites indexed and ranked is practically a No-Brainer. Now we can multiply and expand this issue by using software. Now like I said before, some will deem this unethical and Blackhat. I will leave that for you to decide. You can either keep busting your tail focusing on your Optimization, link swapping, and promoting or you can “jump on the train” and do what so many of us are doing to earn the kind of earnings we are bringing in. There’s a simple decision to be made here. Do you want to spend all that time on your site to get indexed and ranking well, only to find that the next algorithm knocks it back down to dirt level. Or do you want the simple, swift, and sweet victory of less work, and MORE earnings faster than you thought possible? I leave this for you to decide.

Domain Name Url Address

Understanding Importance of URL Redirection

Every SEO company on web apply lots of tools & techniques under the purview of SEO promotion such as link exchange, directory submission, PPC search engine marketing, article writing, etc… and one such popular technique is URL Redirection.

URL Redirection which is also known as the Domain Redirection, URL forwarding or Domain forwarding is a technique in which SEO experts make use of mod_rewrite module to clearly redirect one web address (URL) to another, hence take the visitor to a different URL than clicked upon without his / her explicit knowledge or permission. In other words, URL redirect is a technique wherein websites are made more visible by making them available under many URLs.

The technique is sometimes preferred for redirecting visitors when they type wrong spellings. It is also used as an effective solution in a SEO website that is a subject of poor publishing. URL redirecting is used for such a website to give much more reader friendly and search engine friendly URLs (web addresses).

With more and more websites using dynamic web page generation facilities, the URLs nowadays are generally less meaningful and ingrained with ampersands (&) and question marks (?).

Disadvantages of having such ragged URL’s:

* Easy information leakage about the technology under use for Hackers
* Scope for confusion for the readers/ visitors wishing to memorize or note down the URL for future use
* Difficulty in future changes in technology, as a shift from one programming language to another say ASP to PHP would render the old URLs obsolete and thus non-functional
* Difficulty in linking to your web pages for others, as the special characters in your dynamically generated web pages may meddle with the XHTML code of the websites trying to link with yours
* Discourage Search Engines from indexing your web pages, as search engine spiders do not index web pages with question mark within the URL

URL Redirection helps an SEO expert to eliminate all the above advantages and renders the URLs much more logical, manageable and readable for the end users as well as the search engine spiders.

Register Domain Name Companies

Is Domain Name Registering Good For Company Branding?

Domain registering, when done wisely, can do wonders for company branding. A well-named domain will bring visitors to your site and make selling your products that much easier. There are a few simple rules to follow when registering domain names, though, and they are essential points to remember.

Before you begin registering domain names, make sure that your domain name is something readable. A jumble of letters and numbers, a nonsensical phrase or a group of industry terms are usually not good for domain names. Make sure to use actual words in your domain name. The name should be professional sounding and simple. Unless you are aiming solely for an audience in the know, industry terms can make your site disappear from the radar.

Be wary of difficult to spell words in your domain name. While you may think that it’s clever to use the seven syllable term for your product, many people will see it as annoying and pretentious. It’s important to be inclusive, not exclusive. While many people love learning new words and consulting the dictionary, it’s not going to work well when you are registering domain names.

Since word of mouth often creates the greatest success, you need a domain name that can be easily pronounced. When customers tell their friends about your website, it’s best that they can say it out loud. If it’s something that can’t be readily understood audibly, it might not be the best name.

Since you want company branding when you register domain names, you’ll want the name to be unique and memorable. These two qualities of great domain names can make or break an online business. If you’re in a crowded field, look at the domain names of the competition. See what terms they use, and then find synonyms for each term. By changing the wording while retaining the meaning, you can make your business stand apart from the masses.

A memorable name should be catchy, short and to the point. Keep the wording from being convoluted. This may take some brainstorming, as many of the easiest domain names are already taken. Domain registering can be a headache if you’re having trouble finding something with some chutzpah. Keep it simple, so that people can easily remember your website.

Include a description of your business when registering domain names. Whatever product or service you offer, make it easy for web surfers to find you. If they’re looking for baseball memorabilia, let them know that you have what they need by using sports memorabilia terms. Otherwise, it may seem that memorabilia is just something your business deals in on the side.

Another way to effectively brand your company when registering domain names is by using keywords. Keywords can make your website appear in the first pages of major search engines. By using keywords in your domain name, you increase your chances of customers and clients finding you on the web.

Company branding using domain registering makes your online existence more profitable. You’ll find yourself making more money with less effort when your site is easy to find and remember. A great domain name speaks volumes about the quality of your business.
